Geertruy Maase Ostrander

Geertruy Maase probably was born about 1690. She was the daughter of Albany residents Maas Cornelis and Jacomyntie Gardinier Maase (Van Buren).

Her husband was Arent (Ari) Ostrander - the son of a large Kingston family. They may have been married in Kingston in February 1711. Their son was christened at the Albany Dutch church in October 1711. Two of at least six other children (who were christened at the Reformed church in Kingston) survived. She was an occasional baptism sponsor in Albany and Kingston.

She may have raised her family in Kingston or in nearby Hurley where Arent Oostrander paid taxes in 1716.

Geertruy Maase Ostrander may still have been living in 1761 when her brother filed his will naming her four adult children among his heirs.
