Johanna Bradt Ketelhuyn
Johanna Bradt was born about 1670. She was a younger daughter in the large family of Albany mainstays Barent and Susanna Dircks Bradt. She grew up in her father's house in the North End of Albany and at the family farm in Bethlehem.
After living near their families in Albany, these Ketelhuyns relocated to a new farm at Schaghticoke.
Johanna Bradt Ketelhuyn was with her family at their Schaghticoke home when the settlement was attacked by French and Indian raiders on October 20, 1711. She was killed along with her husband, infant, and unborn child. Another son was taken captive!
