Catharina De Hooges Vanderpoel
Catharina De Hooges was born in February 1686. She was the daughter of Ulster County residents Johannes and Margarita Post de Hooges. She appears to have grown up in her parents home.
In September 1706, she was said to have been living in Albany when she married Albany native Wynant Vanderpoel at the Albany Dutch church. By 1722, nine children had been christened in the Albany church.
For the next two decades, these Vanderpoels made their home in a modest Albany house.
Perhaps they left Albany as early as 1729, when they witnessed a baptism in New Jersey.
Catharina De Hooges Vanderpoel died in January 1744. Her husband survived until 1750. At the time of his death, he was living in Newark, New Jersey.
