Debora Fielding Van Iveren

by

Debora Fielding probably was born during the late 1720s. She was the daughter of newcomer George Fielding and Albany native Catharina Roseboom. She grew up in a silversmith's home located in the second ward.

In August 1759, Debora was identified as "of Albany" when she married Rynier Van Iveren at the Albany Dutch church. By 1775, six children had been christened in the church where she was a pewholder and baptism sponsor.

These Van Iverens raised their family in a businessman's home on the west side of Market Street and were supported by a number of slaves.

Debora Fielding Van Iveren ("Reiner Van Every's wife") died in January 1786. Her husband survived until 1793.
