by Stefan Bielinski Anna Gerrits was born in March 1713. She was the daughter of Albany shoemaker Jan Gerritse and his second wife, the widow Maria Winne Gerritse. She married shoemaker Adam Yates in June 1733. By 1749, her six children were christened at the Albany Dutch church. These Yateses lived in the North End along the lower part of Foxes Creek in the third ward. In 1745, she was named to inherit a parcel of ground and some silver and clothing from the estate of her mother. Anna Gerrits Yates died in September 1751. She had lived thirty-eight years. Adam Yates survived for several decades longer. notes
