Anna Gerritsen Vosburgh

Anna Gerritsen was christened in September 1742. She was the daughter of Hendrick and Dirckje Tymens Gerritsen. Thus, she would have grown up in an Albany tailor's home. She probably was named after her maiden aunt - who had inherited substantial property from this Anna's grandfather.

In December 1760, she may have been just eighteen but was identified as a "spinster" and "of Albany" when she married Barent Vosburgh at the Albany Dutch church. By 1779, eight children had been christened in Albany.

During the 1760s and '70s, these Vosburghs raised their family in Albany's third ward.

Barent Vosburgh was last noted in October 1781. We seek information on Anna Gerritsen Vosburgh's adult life and passing.
