Abraham Lansing was born in May 1704. He was the son of Albany residents Abraham and Magdalena Van Tricht Lansing.

In February 1732, he married Ryckie Van Schaick at the Albany Dutch church. However, she died following the birth of their only child three months after the wedding. In 1746, he re-married. His second bride was his cousin, the spinster Catharina Lansing. That wedding was held in the Schenectady Dutch church in February 1746 but their three children all were baptized in Albany.

This Abraham Lansing was a merchant. In 1756, his substantial home was included on the Albany census and he was identified as an "Indian Trader." His was one of thirteen Lansing-named households in the city at that time.

Abraham Lansing died in December 1759 in his fifty-fifth year!
