Hannah Slingerland Evertsen
Hannah Slingerland probably was born during the 1760s. At this point, we resist connecting her to Albany-area Slingerland families.
For several decades, these Evertsens lived at 22 Fox Street with Jacob's name being italcized in the city directory in 1815 and 1816 - at the time, a designation identifying a "free person of color." Jacob died in 1829 and was buried in the Dutch church plot.
We seek defining information on Hannah Slingerland Evertsen's later life and passing.
Sources: The life of Hannah Slingerland Evertsen has not been assigned a CAP biography number. This sketch is derived chiefly from family and community-based resources. Hannah's children were named Johannes, Christina, Jacob, Maria, and Abraham Truax Evertsen.
