Sarah Smith Sturges
According to her burial record, Sarah/Sally Smith was born about 1755. We seek information on her background and life before marriage.
This Sturgis family lived on Fox Street. Isaac seems to have worked on the river and held a number of service positions in the city. In 1800, their second ward household included four young children.
Sarah Smith Sturges died in December 1807 and was buried in the Presbyterian plot. She had lived fifty two years. Her husband survived for some time afterwards and probably moved in with family members in the second ward.
