Anna Van Ness Wendell

Anna Van Ness was born in December 1694. She was the daughter of Albany resident Hendrick Van Ness and his second wife, Catharina Van Dam Van Ness. She grew up in a large combined family in houses in and around Albany.

In September 1713, she was still in her teens when she married Ephraim Wendell. By 1731, nine children were christened at the Albany Dutch church.

These Wendells lived quietly in Albany's second ward and Eprhaim probably was a trader who also was known as a baker.

Anna Van Ness Wendell died in November 1758 and was buried from her church. She had lived sixty-six years. Her husband survived for another decade.
