by Stefan Bielinski Anna Van Schaick was born in July 1754. She was the daughter of Anthony G. and Christina Van Schaick. She married her cousin, Albany native John G. Van Schaick, in August 1775. By 1795, the marriage had produced five children. These Van Schaicks lived at the family store on North Market Street where they were Albany mainstays. The last recorded reference to her is at the baptism of her son on December 27, 1795. She was not noted in her husband's Market Street household on the census of 1800. Her husband seems to have left Albany after 1813 and died on Van Schaick Island in 1828. notes
