Engeltie Van Schaick Bogert

Engeltie Van Schaick Bogert was born in May 1728. She was the daughter of Nicholas and Dorothea Witbeck Van Schaick.

In June 1751, she married Hendrick Bogert. By 1755, the marriage had produced two children.

She may have died in January 1764 when church records noted that the wife of Hendrick Bogert was buried!

the people of colonial Albany Sources: The life of Engeltie Van Schaick Bogert is CAP biography number 4026. This sketch is derived chiefly from family and community-based resources.

We do not believe that she was the first wife of Hendrick I. Bogert but the wife of a different Hendrick Bogert for whom letters of administration were issued in 1785. Their first daughter was baptized Dorothea in 1752 - after this Engeltie's mother. We believe PFS has compressed two "Hendricks into one!
