Like his father, Johannes Jr. was a weaver - part of a small but well-defined community of craftmen who lived near eachother on Albany's Southside.
In September 1779, "John van Sante, Jun." was named constable for the first ward.
These Van Zandts had their home in Albany's first ward near where other Van Zandt households had been living for more than fifty years. In 1762, he witnessed the will of an Albany neighbor. Beginning during the 1760s, the household of Johannes Jr. was a regular feature of community rolls including the first Federal census taken in 1790.
Johannes Van Zandt, Jr. seems to have passed before 1800.
