Rachel Winne Hallenbeck
Rachel Winne was born in December 1771. She was the twin daughter of Jellis and Feytie Van Woert Winne. She grew up as part of a very large family in a tailor's home in the third ward.
In July 1790, she was not yet nineteen years old when she married Albany native Henry B. Hallenbeck at the Albany Dutch church. By 1806, the marriage had produced seven children.
Following her marriage, Rachel moved into the home Henry already was occupying in the first ward. These Hallenbecks would raise their family in a house at what became 61 Pearl Street in 1814.
Perhaps Rachel Winne Hallenbeck already had passed on in February 1815 when her deceased husband's will passed probate. The homestead was not listed in the Albany directory for 1815 or afterwards.
