to Nicholas Quackenbush Deputy Quarter Master General West Point, October 18th 1780

I do hereby Certify that Capt William Crannel has brought in his Sloop Twenty persons Consisting of Officers, Non Commissioned Officers, Privates, Women & Children belonging to the 1st New York Regiment, also seven Men prisoners of War, from Albany to this place the Men were detained a board said Sloop four days
