Connecting With The Past

The Internet places virtually all of the best cutting-edge historical programs just a mouse-click away. This trend has taken hold and is escalating. As you read this, history groups from Albany, New York to Albany, Australia are uploading significant materials on new and improved web sites. In fact, soon the arena of action in the larger history field (and particularly in public and popular history) will be most significantly represented on the Internet.

Given the diverse and far-flung nature of its principal audiences, the Colonial Albany Social History Project subscribes to this notion and intends to become an exemplary part of an ongoing dialogue relating to community-based historical research, programming, and service. The links below are presented to help bring that world closer together.

Please note: Since this section first was launched (10 years ago now), so many new and wonderful sites have appeared that we cannot begin to keep pace with the new and changing offerings - even among the most relevant to the people of colonial Albany. However, these links have been better catalogued by a number of providers beginning with New York History Net.
