Job Announcement: Westchester Land Trust, Land Program Assistant, Bedford Hills, NY

Westchester Land Trust, a growing land preservation organization based in Bedford Hills, NY, seeks to hire a part time Land Program Assistant to assist the Land Preservation Director and Land Preservation Coordinator on new land preservation projects. The Land Steward will assist the Land Preservation Coordinator on new land preservation projects, documenting conservation values, creating baseline data reports, GIS maps, and constructing geodatabases and managing GIS files.

The candidate must have excellent computer skills and extensive experience with ArcGIS, Microsoft Office applications, and excellent writing and report drafting skills. He or she should have a background and knowledge of natural resource functions and able to hike outdoors in rough conditions. In addition, this candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively and work independently.

At least one year of work experience in an environmental discipline is desirable; natural resources or land trust experience would be preferred.
