What began 25 years ago as an exhibition of 24 New York state artists now includes up to 100 pieces of art by 65 to 85 illustrators. Entries come from all over the world, a testament to the continued widespread usefulness and interest in the detailed representation of natural and cultural history subjects. Because most illustration is used in collaboration with written text, it is appropriate that there be written material to accompany the artwork. In addition to adding depth to the exhibition, the catalogs serve to record the status of illustration as it develops and adapts to the needs of science and technology. The most recent catalogs for FON XI-XII are digitally produced and can be found below along with image galleries for the remaining exhibitions.
