Student Presentation Awards

To qualify for the following student awards, presenters must be full-time students and they must complete the student information form, which is included with the Registration Form. Please also check the box on page 1 of the registration form to include your presentation in the judging.

New York State Museum Honorarium Awards
To encourage presentations by students, we will have student awards for the best overall oral presentation and poster presentation. The winners will each receive a $300 honorarium from the New York State Museum.

New York Flora Association Award

New York Flora Association Award – Best Student Presentation
This award is given by the New York Flora Association for the best student presentation at the Northeast Natural History Conference. Higher consideration will be given to presentations that advance our understanding of the biology, ecology, distribution, or taxonomy of the northeastern flora. Both oral and poster presentations are eligible. All student presenters at the Northeast Natural History Conference are eligible for this award, although student presenters should send an e-mail to ryburnak@oneonta.edu announcing when their presentation will be given.

New York Flora Association Award – Best Botany Presentation
This award is given by the New York Flora Association for the best botany presentation at the Northeast Natural History Conference. Higher consideration will be given to oral presentations that advance our understanding of the biology, ecology, distribution, or taxonomy of the northeastern flora. The presentation may deal with a broad area including systematics, ecology, and/or conservation. All individuals presenting botany focused talks are eligible for this award, although we do ask presenters to send an e-mail to ryburnak@oneonta.edu announcing when their presentation will be given.
