The Survey maintains close contact with the mineral industry of New York in order to keep abreast of developing trends in technology and markets. Periodically, the NYSGS publishes industry-wide reviews of the state of mineral extraction in New York. Recently the Survey completed, in cooperation with consulting economists, an investigation into the impact of the mining and construction material industry on the economy of New York.
