Celebrating its 25th Anniversary!
Friday, February 19 through
Sunday, February 21, 2016

9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Admission: $5 each day - Friday, Saturday and Sunday
*Cash only.
Children ages 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult.
Delight your senses with the sights and scents of flowers at the State Museum's New York in Bloom event. Over a hundred elegant floral arrangements designed by local floral designers, flower enthusiasts and garden club members are on display in the Museum's galleries this weekend. Other activities include demonstrations on floral design, children's activities, cafe, and flower market.

Explore plants, seeds, pollination, and flower parts under the microscope!

Botanical Illustrations

Patricia Kernan, State Museum Scientific Illustrator, will share and discuss several scientific illustrations from the Museum's collection.

Hyacinths

Make an everlasting flower, from delicate colored paper, to celebrate NY in Bloom!

Floral Prints on Fabric
10 a.m.–12 p.m. | Classroom 2/3
Join Peggy Steinbach to create this unique project. Prints will be made from hammering actual flower parts and leaves onto fabric!

Exploring the Potential of Designing with Flowers

Fresh Flower Market in Main Lobby
Please be sure to visit the floral market and take a bouquet home with you! All proceeds benefit Museum youth programs. Located behind the Main Lobby desk, the market will be open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 11a.m.–4:30 p.m. while supplies last.

Food Services on the 4th floor terrace gallery
Nicole's Special Events and Catering offers a variety of teas, coffee, desserts, and light luncheon fare that the entire family will enjoy. Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
