Archaeology uncovers stories of a community through what was left behind. Learn how Dr. Paul Huey identified and uncovered the site of Fort Orange. He will provide information on some of the artifacts, including wampum beads and a delft plate that can be closely dated. These artifacts show the consistency in dating the archaeological strata in which they were found. These discoveries demonstrate how the Dutch were able to successfully and rapidly transfer their culture from the old country to the new.
