The Weaver-Demarest site in the village of Waterford, New York, is an example of backyard archaeology. The process by which Waterford was settled and developed is studied excavating a backyard.


ball imageAfrican-American Archaeology at Long Island, NY

The Betsey Prince Site is a late 18th to early-19th century domestic site (former home) in the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, NY. It was occupied by freed African-Americans at the time that slaves were slowly manumitted in New York State.

The archaeology of the Ballston Archaeological District and the Jennings Site.
