Historical Area Markers in New York State
One hundred thirty-nine large format Historical Area Markers were erected statewide
during the 1960s. Some are duplicates placed in different areas. Some carry variations
of text found on other markers within the same region.
This inventory contains every marker by each region of the
State. Within a region, duplicate markers are indicated by locations at the end of the text. Similar
markers within a region are listed separately. Duplicate markers in different regions are also listed
separately.
