Darwin's Origin of Species in the 21st Century

Do not miss this one day workshop that provides teachers with a firm foundation in evolutionary biology, including up-to-date information on genetics, the fossil record, and evolution. The workshop is presented by Ph.D. -level NYSM evolutionary biologists , and teachers will gain valuable insight into the forefront of scientific research happening right here in New York State. Biology, Earth Science and Social Studies teachers will all benefit from the materials and experiences provided in this program. Participants take away a book, visit the NYSM research collections, and engage in lessons they can use in the classroom.

Date and Times: Saturday October 24, 2015 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Location: New York State Museum, Huxley Theater, Cultural Education Center, Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY. Directions to the NYSM can be found at:  Parking is free in the NYSM visitors' lots on weekends.
Participant Fee: **REGISTRATION FULL**
Eligibility: High school and middle school science teachers from any school
Teacher Credit:
Continuing Education credit for 8 contact hours, through the New York State Education Department.
