Discover the Capital Region's best chocolates, specialty foods and holiday gifts at this family-friendly event on the first Sunday in December.
The third Saturday of each month, join museum staff for creative activities that combine crafts, performances and fun-filled learning geared towards the entire family. Stories come to life as youngsters touch real animal skins, bones, plants, and more while listening to a different storybook reading each time. Children are invited to dress up, dance, parade about, get lost in a maze and create some ghoulish crafts the weekend before Halloween!

Each February the Museum hosts the Annual James Campbell Memorial Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show and Sale. Vendors display and sell gems, jewelry, minerals, fossils, and much more.
Join the NYS Museum on a trip to Lucerne. The Swiss Alps is the backdrop for Lucerne, a town with 800 years of history.
The State Museum Music Jam takes place on Thursdays, 12 noon-2 PM in Adirondack Hall (near the Colvin Tower).
Each February the museum brings thousands of fresh flowers into the galleries in this great program that helps sponsor the Museum’s after school program.
