"Harlem Rattlers" African American WWI Regiment Featured in Gilder Lehrman Institute's Journal
The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History's Fall History Now journal has chosen for its topic African American Soldiers from the Revolution to today. Of particular interest to New York State historians is a wonderful essay by Jeffrey Sammons titled "Harlem’s Rattlers: African American Regiment of the New York National Guard in World War I."
