Friday, January 31, 2020-Episode 303-Bob Cudmore reads three stories from the Mohawk Valley audio tour: Palatine Church, Charleston forests and the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Shrine. Also the story of Amsterdam drama coach Bert DeRose and from the archives, historian David Pietrusza on the last years of Theodore Roosevelt.
Friday, February 7, 2020- Episode 304-Maria Riccio Bryce discusses her historical music production Home Again focusing on her hometown of Amsterdam, N.Y. The production will be staged Feb. 21-23 at Amsterdam High School. Proceeds benefit Amsterdam Free Library.
Friday, February 14, 2020-Episode 305-Malta N.Y. town historian Paul Perreault has the story of a famous drawing of Andersonville Prison in Georgia done by a Union Civil War prisoner, Thomas O’Dea. Perreault also has an account of the Saratoga Battlefield and the story of a fighting chaplain in World War I, Reverend Francis Kelly.
Friday, February 21, 2020-Episode 306-Controversy has developed over neglect of historic sites dedicated to American Revolution-era writer Thomas Paine’s memory in his last home in New Rochelle in Westchester County. New Rochelle resident Jim Kaplan explains the issue. Kaplan wrote an essay on the subject that appeared in New York History Blog.
Friday, February 28, 2020-Episode 307-Peter Ward explores the history of personal cleanliness over the past 400 years in Europe and North America in his book, “The Clean Body.”
