Northern Dutchess Alliance Honors History Community

Dutchess County Historical Society Historian

(L-R) County Clerk Bradford Kendall, Rhinebeck Village Historian Michael Frazier, County Historian Will Tatum, Clinton Town Historian Craig Marshal

At the 2020 annual breakfast on February 26th, the Northern Dutchess Alliance (NDA) honored members of the county history community with the "Commitment to Community" and "Charting Our Course" awards, recognizing the decades of work invested in restoring, preserving, and protecting the region's cultural heritage. The Alliance chose to honor Dutchess County Clerk Bradford H. Kendall, Dutchess County Historian William P. Tatum III, and Town of Clinton Historian Craig Marshall for projects ranging from the Dutchess County Ancient Documents and to the Dutchess County Historical Society's Vice-President's Program. Long-serving Rhinebeck Town Historian Nancy Kelly received the "Commitment to Community" award for over fifty years of service to the Northern Dutchess Community, which included writing two books, founding the Rhinebeck Historical Society, managing the Kinship Publishing company, and serving as the local government historian for Rhinebeck. Kelly skyped in from her winter home in Florida, with Rhinebeck Village Historian Michael Frazier accepting the award on her behalf. The NDA awards offer further testimony to the strength and ongoing success of the Dutchess County History Community.
