Have you ever wondered what a cultural anthropologist at a museum actually does? What is ethnography? Why is there an ethnology collection at NYSM, and what is in it? The NYS Museum has a strong anthropology department that largely focuses on archaeology; however, the department also includes cultural anthropology. Meet Dr. Gwen Saul, curator of ethnography and ethnology at the NYSM, and learn more about the collections and current ethnographic research.

This program includes a 20-minute talk followed by brief Q&A. Participants are welcomed to bring their lunches.
