Lakes to Locks Passage Photo Contest

This article originally appeared on the Lakes to Locks PassagePort website in May, 2018.

The Lakes to Locks Passage Scenic Byway has just about everything a good explorer needs–great hikes, rich history, bucolic landscapes, year-round recreational opportunities, artisan crafts, farm-to-table foods, quaint hamlets, and an amazing diversity of arts and culture. The byway extends from just north of Albany to the Canada-US border at Rouses Point–as a highway AND as a waterway! The interconnected waterway runs from the confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers near Waterford, through the Upper Hudson River and Champlain Canal, Lake George, and Lake Champlain. It’s also all of Washington County and the waterway towns and hamlets from Troy to Rouses Point, along US Route 4, NYS Route 9N, NYS Route 22, US Route 9, and NYS Route 9B. (You can always email us at photo@lakestolocks.org to confirm your photo was taken in the Byway.) Read more...
