We recognize that everyone’s situation is different during these uncertain times. As we adapt to the present circumstances, we have taken steps to ensure we can continue to support and respond to those we serve through our marker grant programs.
In light of that, I write to update you regarding our Historic Transportation Canal Marker Grant Program. The spring grant round for this program is now open. Grants cover the entire cost of a cast aluminum marker, pole and shipping.
Here are important dates to keep in mind for this grant round:
- 5/15/2020 - online letter of intent to verify primary sources due
- 6/15/2020 - final application due online
Grants are available to 501(c)(3) organizations, nonprofit academic institutions, and local, state and federal government entities. This is a nationwide program. The application process is entirely online.
Visit our canal marker webpage for guidelines, eligibility and how to apply. We also have additional information on our website about how we are continuing to work with our grant applicants during the pandemic.
