New York State History Day

The theme for the 2017 National History Day is 'Taking a Stand in History.' Each year the theme changes and is chosen for the broad application to world, national, or state hirtory and its relevance to ancient history or to the more recent past. The intention for selectin this years theme for NHD is to provide an opportunity for students to push past the antiquated view of history as mere facts and dates and drill down into historical content to develop perspective and understanding. 

This year the contest will take place on Monday, April 24th, 2017 in Cooperston, New York.
