NY Cultural Heritage Tourism Network: 8th Annual Spring Conference
NYCHTN will be holding their 8th Annual Spring Conference, Feet Through Your Door's and More, on Wednesday June 6, 2018 at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva NY, from 8AM-3:30PM.
This year's Keynote Speaker, sponsored by Humanities NY, will be international speaker and author Nina Siimon. Her work has been shared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, NPR, and TEDx. She has addressed people around the world, sharing her story and her creative and innovative ideas that have made her one of the foremost experts in making our museums and organizations participatory and relevant. Simon remarked about the conference, “I am so happy to be able to share my passion for opening up museums and turning them into places where people don’t come just to visit, but where you can connect with culture and hopefully through those experiences connect with each other.”
Other guest speakers include Deborah Hughes, President and CEO, National Susan B Anthony Museum and House, Betty Bayer, President of the Board, the National Women’s Hall of Fame, Jeff Ludwig, Education Director, Seward House Museum, Jeremy Saucier, Assistant Vice President for Interpretation and Electronic Games, the Strong National Museum of Play, Diane O’Connor, Managing Director, Ticonderoga Historical Society, and Darren Cotton, Director of Community Development & Planning at the University District Community Development Association and founder of the University Heights Tool Library who said, “ I am honored to be a part of a program that includes so many well respected individuals from the world of cultural and heritage tourism and preservation.”
