SUNY Press Announces New Series, Public History in New York State, Edited by the University at Albany Center for Applied Historical Research

The field of public history has experienced significant growth as an academic discipline, but public history extends well beyond the academy.
The State of New York is exceptionally rich in its number of museums, historic sites, and archival repositories, and historic preservation is not only popular but is written into law. A considerable amount of public history research is produced in New York by academic historians and practitioners in the field, but it does not always appear in print form. This series aims to publish the best of this work so that it may be disseminated to a wide audience.
