Three New York State Museums Receive IMLS Funding to Support African American History and Culture

The following museums located in New York State received funding from the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS):
The Louis Armstrong Museum (Queens)--$50,000
The National Jazz Museum in Harlem (Harlem)--$49,981
Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center (Niagara Falls)--$248,333

According to the IMLS, Museum Grants for African American History and Culture "support activities that build the capacity of African American museums and support the growth and development of museum professionals at African American museums."  Read more...
