Town of Brutus/Village of Weedsport Historian Honored for 25 Years of Service

Jeanne Baker, the Town of Brutus and Village of Weedsport Historian, is being honored June 10th for her 25 years of dedicated service. As a board member of the Old Brutus Historical Society Museum and as a Local Government Historian, Mrs. Baker has dedicated thousands of hours to the preservation, protection, and promotion of the area's history. During her years as Treasurer, board member, and volunteer at the Museum, Jeanne has helped bring in over $120,000 through her grant writing, including $20,000 for an addition to the Museum. She has also acted as a volunteer docent, giving tours of the Museum as well as running special events. As Local Government Historian, Jeanne has has given many walking tours of the Weedsport Rural Cemetery and the Village of Weedsport, has written a walking tour guide of historical homes throughout Weedsport, and has assisted thousands of people with local history and genealogical questions.
On June 10th, from 1pm-4pm, the Old Brutus Historical Society Museum will be holding an Open House in honor of Jeanne Baker. The event will take place at the Museum located at 8943 N. Seneca Street, Weedsport, NY 13166.
