State History

The Town of Groton is celebrating its 200th Anniversary.  Groton is rich in history, including the fact that for a short time they were called Division when Groton and Tompkins County were first formed in 1817.  From their first settlers, to the booming industries they once had, to the beautiful and comfortable country town that they are today, Groton has much to remember and commemorate.  The Bicentennial Committee has planned events throughout the year and wishes to invite everyone to attend.
