Town of Wilton Celebrating 200th Birthday

Wilton Bicentennial

The Town of Wilton (Saratoga County) is celebrating its bicentennial in 2018 with a series of celebratory events and the creation of a film.  The film was produced by Tim Welch and is the story of how this small upstate community engaged with its more famous neighbor to create Greater Saratoga. Wilton has several notable historical features chronicled in the film and they will be revealed in a special premiere at Bow-Tie Cinema in the Wilton Mall on April 20th, the official birthday of Wilton.  The film can also be found on YouTube here

The Wilton Bicentennial webpage features an events calendar and other information related to the Town's birthday celebrations and can be found here.

Part of the celebrations will include the innaugural Civil War Weekend taking place August 11th and 12th, 2018.  This event will include dozens of Civil War era reenactors portraying multiple roles from the period. Camp life, infantry, artillery and cavalry drills, battles and firing demonstrations will bring the period to life. Musical performances, children’s activities, book authors, military artifact displays, food and vendors will provide a weekend full of learning and excitement for all ages.  The event will take place on the D.A. Collins property at 269 Ballard Road, Wilton, NY and is presented by the Friends of Ulysses S. Grant Cottage.  Tickets for the event can be purchased by calling 518-584-4353.  For more information, click here.
