Who Are The Women In Your Past?
March is Women's History Month, which is especially significant in light of this year's nationwide centennial of Women's Suffrage. Historic Red Hook is requesting that residents with information (especially photographs) on topics ranging from women's roles in daily life to the suffrage struggle contact them to insure this material is documented. The need to preserve the documents, images, and artifacts that reflect women's experiences of the past is not unique to one town in Dutchess, however. If you have family material, please reach out to your local historical society or to the Dutchess County Historical Society to see how they can help you document and preserve it for generations to come.
